Recommended Craft Book?

Hi all,
I am looking to buy a Craft book, which aims to teach the novice a wide variety of crafts including basic machine sewing. Does such a thing exist? I'm trying hard to be very mindful when buying books and don't want a potential dust collector. I was looking at Kirsty's Vintage Home. Any ideas?

TIA

There is this book, the older version was a bit more craft-like

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/How-Just-About-Anything-Practical/dp/1780201230/ref=sr_1_3?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1355484130&sr=1-3#_

Why not check out what your library has first before buying a book? Youtube is also an invaluable mine of information on how to do just about anything.
CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J
  • Thankyou for your reply. I used youtube when learning to Crochet, it was great but having to constantly having to pause it and then having the laptop with headphones on all night was very antisocial lol. I wanted to go to my local bookshop but have a little guy off from school at the mo, so am trying to research online.
I did actually used to have that book but with the constant de-cluttering it went to charity. That's the only thing with being ruthless with clearing out. :)

I always look on Amazon - or Ebay - for craft books then search the library for them online and reserve a copy. Many times Ive bought a book in the past to be disappointed by it so I always try to get it from the library first. In fact if I like a book from the library I keep it as long as possible and one Ive had about making and emroidering bags Ive had for nearly 12 months.
