N/A/ A customer is considering buying one of your most popular and technologically advanced mobile phones. He says that it has been several years since he has bought a new phone and he is interested in this particular model as his friends have recommended it. You are aware that Vodafone has recently received some complaints about the phone from some customers, who have found it too complicated. Ask the customer what he likes about his old phone and what features he is looking for in a new phone, so that you can advise him which models best meet his needs. A customer approaches you at a Vodafone store. He says that he does not know much about mobile phones, but he likes the idea of having access to the internet. Most phones have internet access, but some models have much better internet functions than others. The customer says that he is interested in a particular phone, which is on special offer but does not have very good internet functions. This phone is not your favourite model, and there is another model at a reasonable price that you believe has some of the best internet functions available. However, this other model is not on special offer, so it is more expensive. Ask the customer what he particularly likes about the phone he is interested in, trying to understand what other features are important to him and then suggest which models best suit his needs. It is lunchtime and it is currently very busy in the Vodafone store where you work. A customer approaches you and says that he is interested in buying a particular model of mobile phone. As you begin going through all the features of the phone, he mentions that he only has five minutes before he needs to go back to his office. Even if he were to buy the phone immediately, there would not be enough time to set up the contract. There are several other customers that look like they need your help. Explain to the customer that it is better that he comes back to the store when he has more time available, so that you are able to talk about the phone in more detail. A customer comes into your Vodafone store. He tells you that he wants to upgrade his mobile phone for a more technologically advanced model to use for work. He decides to buy a very new model that has emails, internet and several other applications. After you have sold the customer his phone, he tells you that he is quite daunted by such an advanced phone, as he is used to a more basic model. You have been assisting him for 40 minutes and the store is very busy with other customers. Demonstrate the phone to the customer so he understands how to use it, set up his email for him and give him your contact details in case he needs any more help later. A customer tells you that he thinks that his bill is far too high and that he is not happy with the amount he has had to pay in the past few months. You look through his bill and you realise that he is using 700 minutes per month when in fact, he only has 300 minutes free on his contract. When you explain this to the customer, he tells you that he wants to cancel his contract. Apologise to the customer, say that it is unfortunate that he is paying so much and suggest that he might want to look at other options before he cancels his contract. A customer approaches you in a Vodafone store to say that he is interested in a particular model of mobile phone and wants to set up a contract. He asks you how much a contract will cost per month and when you tell him the price, the customer argues that it is £5 more expensive than an online competitor. The price that you have quoted is the lowest that you can offer the customer. When you suggest alternative contracts, the customer does not seem interested and tells you that he likes Vodafone’s services but he is still unconvinced. Say that the online offer is a good price but if he takes a contract at Vodafone today you can help him transfer his contacts, set up email and guide him how to use the phone.
