Hi All,

To start off, please see the post below:

http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?p=4964598

I contacted Clarity today, and they have contacted me reference a Credit Card (Barclay Card) i took out in November 1998. the last payment was made on the card in July 2001. I have moved around and note had any contact or made apayment since then.

Tey told me the end balance on the card was £3394.02, but if i settled now they would except an seetlement figure of £1900, and write the remaining balance off.

I didn't admit to the debt, even when the guy out right asked me if i acknowledge the debt was mine.

I am only about 3 months outside the 6 year period for Statute Barred, but now they have contacted me they can hound me etc. Do i pay the £1900 or to i try and negotiate this figure down?

Any advice would be gratefully received.

Regards

Mark

I think the fact that they have contacted you, means that the debit wouldn't be statute barred now anyway........
