Remortgaging with "Same" Mortgage?

Can you update the thread with what procedure they expect you to follow, application-wise etc., as this is unusual?

The security of the first property is discharged on the sale and a new one is required for the new property and it's always interesting/useful to know when a lender does something different. Current account mortgages are always a bit weird. ;)

    Ta.

I applied over the phone to carry out the "house move".

They took some basic details about the new house (price, address, #bedrooms, terraced/semi/detached etc).

They took the solicitor and EA details.

They asked if I was selling mine, and what price I'd got for it.

They asked what facility I'd need, and if I wanted to change the term.

They asked me numerous time to check and double check I wasn't going to use the money for business/laundering/other etc etc!

They played a recorded message about the credit check process and how it would affect my record and that details would be shared blah blah blah.

They explained the 3 valuation survey types I could chose from.

They explained it'd cost £35 (or something) if my account was used for the money transfers.

They then said I'd get a response in 2/3 days after they run all the credit checks.

They said there would be no arrangement/setup fees as I already had the account.

They could see that my salary was being paid into the account and could obviously see how I was managing money month to month etc (it being my current account)

I got a phone call 10am the following morning to tell me I was approved and that the surveyors had been instructed.

20 mins later I got a text from the surveyors with a number to call, which I did, paid the survey fee ... and now it's down to the EA to arrange access to the house.

When that's done, they'll await instruction from the solicitor.

All in all ... a complete and utter piece of p1ss and took perhaps half an hour at most - all of it on the phone!

Well impressed with my Natwest One offset account!
