totally agree!! Had some lovely Village Candles and great value. Hardly ever buy Yankee now as been very disappointed with the last few I bought (hardly any smell and tunnelling badly).

I'm pleased you have discovered the joys of Village Candles too! Fortunately, I've not yet experienced the tunnelling of Yankee Candles that you and others apparently have. I have noticed that some Yankees now have virtually no smell at all when burning, however.

i do have to admit that I have had a Village with NO scent at all but on the whole they are very good and the scents are strong and quick too.

There's currently an offer on bright ideas gift shop for 5 for the price of 4 (including new fragrances) so works out £11.99 a large jar with free postage and they deliver very quickly too.

I'm off to look at that offer online now!

If you like foody fragrances in your candles, there's a set of 3 Village candles for £34.62 (£11.54 each) on Amazon at the moment too. Lemon Poundcake, Brownie Delight and Blueberry Muffin.

    See here.

If you look around, there are still some places doing the 10 Yankee votives for £10 offer. My local department store is doing it on all the fragrances it stocks but some places only on a limited range. The online shop below has a choice of 21 votives and offers free postage as well so worth a look when they work out £1 each and are £1.80-£2.00 full price.

Apologies - postage is free on orders over £15 but £2 if you only get 10 votives for £10. Still good value but I could easily spend £15 myself and get free P&P!
  • Limited time offers in Yankee Candle up to 65% Off including 8 fragrance and decor items. And with any purchase you can get a free votive candle sample (one sample per guest).

This is the American site and sadly they don't ship to the UK. Good offer if you have friends or family in the US who can take in orders for you, though.
Back after a very long break!

Sorry, I must have missed something when I posted that reply. Love Yankee Candle very much, so romantic. You're right I can count on my friends to bring one for me.

  • Not sure if this is any use to anyone but Macarthur Glen Designer Outlet Ashford Yankee store has large jars of Nostalgic Christmas. I got the HoHoHo scent (similar to Candy Cane Lane from last year) and they had a couple of others, only £10 each. Not sure if this is old stock or going to be on sale this year.

Got wild sea grass large jar for £10 and salted caramel for 13.99 at boundary mills.

Also did a big order about 5 weeks ago and yankee still haven't taken money from card. I saw it on my pending transactions on my account but then my money gone back up by that amount and not on my statement
