Bad credit mortgage broker - recommendations?

Hi all
I have had a few problems in the past but have got myself all sorted now, however I still have a little over a year until the 6 years is up and my previous defaults and ccj get removed. I have been almost 100% debt free and squeeky clean for the last 3 years.
Debts were settled with credit agencies at a reduced amount.
I am looking for a mortgage so I can move in to a slightly larger flat, I will have £35-40k deposit and looking to borrow up to £160k. I currently live in a shared ownership property.
I have searched and the many threads I have found always say to contact a broker but never give a name or review of a broker suitable for my situation. Can anyone help?
Thanks

Brokers are best dealt-with face to face, so it's difficult to recommend without knowing an area. It's probably best if you search https://www.unbiased.co.uk, remembering to switch off the "sponsored ads only" option so you get a complete list for your area.
Have a chat to a few on the list and see what they say and how you feel about them.I am a mortgage broker. What is the bad credit and when?
Have the defaults/CCJ been satisfied?

As suggested, it would be useful to have further information in terms of being able to give you an indication of lender appetite.
We are not allowed to recommend an individual or company, although in this case the more experienced the broker the more preferential the terms you are likely to receive.
Many brokers will automatically aim for sub prime, tolerant lenders (usual suspects) and you will pay for this with rate and product fees. From the information provided you are likely to be accepted.
I would have thought a smaller bank or Building Society may meet your requirements better as the rates are likely to be much more appealing...

I am about 18 months away from the 6 years is up, it was;
A number of defaults all satisfied
1 ccj to expire in jan 2014 - satisfied
1 account showing as an outstanding amount with hsbc even though I paid an agreed percentage in settlement. They have refused to change this through a request from experian. I will be looking to get this amount removed through direct contact and will be seeking some advice on that when I work out what section to post in. It was a credit card.
I have been absolutely spotless over the last 3 years and will have a decent deposit of around £35k ish. Looking to buy a property anywhere from £110k to perhaps £140k.
I hope that's all you need to form an opinion.
Thanks for the replies so far.
