Fancy Dress Party - 80s

Im going to a Xmas party with 80s them so thought I was go as someone from Grange Hill as I already have the black skirt, black jacket, white shirt etc... Im hoping to scour the charity shops at the weekend so can anybody give me ideas if they were at school in the 80s of anything they did or wore with their uniforms?

black fishnet tights with white ankle socks got me told off.
Tie done the wrong way round with the wide bit tucked into the shirt and about two or three inches of the narrow bit showing with frayed ends and as small a knot as you can imagine.
We were quite rural though so it may not have been fashion, just weird.

Always wore over the knee socks in the winter over tights with a black short skirt,and definately wore the tie the way everyone has said and the mini badges.Tonged hair back combed a bit with loads of hairspray...oh the memories lol0
