DAB Just as I had made my mind up!

After reading and doing my research I decided to by the Pure One DAB radio with my carefully saved Comet vouchers to see if DAB was all it was cracked up to be. Gladly it was, so then I had to decide whether to go for a normal CD Alarm Radio, or put money to my left over vouchers and go for the Bug Too. Decided on the Bug Too as it does so much, then read about DAB+/DABv2 which has made me hesitate. Are we all going to be left with redundant sets in a few years time? Ofcom are being very hedgy about things. Although they say they don't foresee switching over as it will leave lots of disgruntled people with unusable sets, they also say they will keep their eye on developements and words to the effect of the developing current trends of other counties! There is talk of sets coming out next year with dual compatibility. Popular census is that it won't happen fully for around 5-8 years when the sets will be at the end of their lives anyway. I don't agree with this as items if looked after well can last for decades. I have a little Realistic pocket radio from Tandy from about 30 years ago that is still going strong. What do folks think? Do you think it is hype? Or should I hold out and get the normal CD Alarm Radio, or am I worrying about nothing?
