Sodastream £19.99 (Comet)

Just bought a "Sodastream" at our local Comet for £19.99. It's the "Jet" model.
It comes with a full cylinder of CO2 and a one litre bottle (ie no syrups).
Considering that a spare cylinder is usually £20 by itself, this is a bit of a bargain. (Usually these retail about the £50 price I think)
They had a big pile of them, so likely to be found in other stores too. They also had a Union jack version for £24.99.
(For what it's worth, Argos sell the syrups and gas refills. Multipacks of syrup are on special offer at the moment, too)
Good fun for Christmas and will hopefully save having to lug home heavy bottles of pop from the supermarket.

PS: Don't try fizzy milk. It's horrid.0

If you can, you should really try and taste what the soda stream makes before you buy it. The things awful! It's like Asda 12p roller cola but 10 times worse.
Plus for the sake of £5 extra, i'd buy from a reputable retailer.0 -

i have read lots of good reviews about the soda stream, each to his own i suppose.0 -
We quite like ours too, the syrups are a lot better than they used to be

I second the fizzy milk thing...not fabulous, I take it you had a soda stream as a child too then? my brother and I "fizzed" every liquid we could lay our hands on :rotfl:0 -
I have one and use it quite a bit, love a bit of fizzy, although this thread has reminded me i need a new gas bottle. I've never bothered with the syrups, i just use squash or fruit juice.

Popped into our local Comet in Milton Keynes, no luck with a Soda stream, but came out with a Philips iPod/iPad speaker dock DS3500 for £51.99 and loads of cheap ink for my epson printer

Mine is in daily use, I drink a lot of carbonated water so its easier than buying bottles. Most of the flavours are lovely, especially the cocktails (cosmopolitan, Mojito and Margherita) which are currently on offer in Dunelm at £2.09.
The cola is nothing like 'rola cola' tbh, it's quite nice and I'm VERY fussy with which cola's I drink.
Oh and the energy drink is LOVELY!!!0 -
I have just been to my local Comet and they have no soda streams, in fact they don't have much of anything
