    Hi Leoniestacy,

Shortbread lasts at least a week once cooked, as long as you wrap it in something sealed, as it will deteriorate once open. Not too sure about fudge though, try the fudge thread on here (you'll have to search for it I'm afraid, haven't got it linked).

I use the BBC good food shortbread recipe - its quick, easy and definately works.

Leoniestacy, the link you gave says "They will keep for up to 2 weeks in an airtight container". I've not tried the 'no cook' fudge before, but it's got to be easier than the boiled stuff - mine came out as toffee, very nice toffee, but still not fudge!

Not strictly true Ive made fudge for 12 people for the same cost of buying 3 or 4 boxes! And tastes much better too :)

Not sure exactly how long it lasts as the first batch I made for work went within a matter of days! I put my fudge in a plastic container and seemed to work!
Life is what you make it.
  • I made this fudge last Sunday - http://www.goodtoknow.co.uk/recipes/519814/easy-chocolate-fudge

It was easy to make and made 5 good sized portions. The ingredients cost me about £3 - sainsbury's basic chocolate, tin of condensed milk and a 99p box of icing sugar from Aldi :)

My daughter gave me some home made chocolate fudge last year & I was THRILLED because of the love & care she put into making it for us as a family , its not about the cost , anyone can simply pop into a shop & buy some fudge or buy some biscuits in their supermarket shop but she usually bakes Christmas biscuits too & those gifts are the best gifts of all! xx

    ( Sorry I don't have the recipes!! lol )

  • Im gonna be making choc orange shortbread, and stem ginger fudge for my hampers this year. Havent made them yet, but did a trial run of the fudge using this recipe:

(Uses Condensed milk, really easy!) and the fudge lasts a good couple of weeks if in an air tight container :) If you wanted to make flavoured fudge, just add your additions at the end (Iv done Disaronno and cherry, vanilla bean paste and I will be trying malibu with coconut flakes!) xx
So much for 'Money Saving' ;)
