Drunk business owner

Hi I wanted to get other people perspective on a current issue at work.
The current owner of the company I work for and have effectively run for them for the past 4 years has decided to take control and push me out. I am fine with this and accept it his company even if he is undoing all the good work.
The main issue I have is that the single owner of the company has a drink problem and apart from never knowing what mood he will be in from day to day when he wishes to arrive in the office on most occasions he stinks of alcohol.
In recent weeks he has been running appraisals with staff drunk and arrived yesterday slurring his words at the staff. Every one is aware of the problem however it is being treated as a white elephant in the room as in the end he is the owner.
My only concern is for the staff in the way of bulling and having employment ours changed without being agreed and even removing people computers and forcing them to work from pen and paper.
Any thoughts on how to manage such a situation would be appreciated.

Turning up drunk, removing equipment, turning staff against the business, I'd guess the business is going into freefall and he wants to get rid of people as cheaply as possible for a sell on.0

How does he get to work - does he drive himself ?0

That was my question but I thought I was being too mean...after all one phone call, the business owner gets pulled over and because he can't get to work, the business is folded.
OP - I suspect it won't be open too much longer, get applying for new jobs pronto. If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0 -
He walks, which means he finds hisway into a pub normally every day before arriving.
Or he will be in one from lunch and can easily drink 4 Stella and a large wine before getting into the office.
Meeting generally are held in the pub and whilst staff drink non-alcoholic drinks he can drink 3 or 4 pints or glasses of wine in the space of an hour.0 -
The company is doomed with an owner spiralling into alcoholism - probably best to find a new job before the inevitable happens...."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

The inference in this statement is that you have already decided to put up with the situation and change what things in your life that you can to make the situation more acceptable to you.
Maybe this is a problem about dealing with people who are alcoholic.0 -
New job, buy out, or set up in competition0
