Tesco's mispricing refusing a refund

What happened was first they overcharged on reduced bread, 42p first they only gave 42p back not double the difference as they state

Also There was a buy one get one free section, me and my friend thought it was cheap to get 2 cheesy garlic breads for £1.74, but my friend accidently picked up a plain one, which was piled up with the cheesy ones(i.e the stack was a mix)

We notice this and go back 2 hours later to be told they wont take returns on food 10 minutes after its sold! as the customer could easily change it around.

As far as I know, Tescos never did double the difference. They used to give you a refund at the price you paid and let you keep the item. I think they have changed their policy now. Saying that, I went into Tescos the other day and their label clearly stated £3-50 for a pizza. When it went through the checkout, it came out at £3-80. The guy was gonna give me the difference (30p), and I said "oh, the policy has changed then has it" (knowing that I thought it had), and he said "yes". I said "what is it now then?" and he didn't know!!! My husband was next to me in the queue and said "aren't you meant to get your money back and keep the product", and the guy just gave me the money back and the pizza. I would check it out, but I am pretty sure that they don't do the money back and let you keep the item anymore. As for going back 2 hours later when getting an item on BOGOF...I don't know. Ive questioned stuff when its shampoo or whatever, but not food....did you show your receipt?

    I stand corrected!!!
Yes, policy is now double the difference....shame their staff don't know!!! I still give coupons in and the staff don't know what they can accept and what they can't.
Shame they stopped the r&r policy...I didn't realise it was because everyone was getting free Xbox's because of a tesco mis-price.

Yes receipt was shown, guy seemed to be more bothered with getting me away and serving the smartly dressed customer behind me.

Oh dear. Have you thought about writing a letter to Sir Terry Leahy? You could CC it in to Justin King at Sainsburys to see how he would handle the situation. You may recieve alot of vouchers or at the very least a full apology and double the difference back on your entire shopping.

No harm in asking? Failing that you can just forget it.
