How Far Back Do Credit Companies Go When Rating You?
Options
I have had good credit for the past three years, been fully employed and paid everything on time.
But before that I was chronically ill for two years and had to remortgage to pay off my debts in full, which I did in in May 2004.
I now need to take out a loan for £3000.
How will I be classed in terms of the loan?
I do not want to apply and be turned down.
I would be very grateful for any advice.

it depends upon what's on your file: a few late payments probably don't count after a year but an unsatisfied default or CCJ will count for six years.
in any event a couple of credit applications wouldn't adversely affect your credit rating. it doesn't show whether you are successful or not but only that you have applied.0
