Signed contact yesterday...completing on Friday, what to do in meantime?

Besides finding gas and electric suppliers. We don't need removals booked. Anything else I should be organising before I'm tied up with the actual moving process?

Do you have a bed and a couch? If not, start sourcing them now as it can take a bit of delivery time (if buying new) or arranging collection (if second hand).
I've got a plan so cunning you could put a tail on it and call it a weasel.

Regarding internet - you need find out what choices you have (BT, Sky,Virgin etc) and then arrange for one to be connected. Normally gas and electric companies contact you as the new occupier - take a meter reading when you get the keys to ensure you are not billed for the previous occupants usage.

Don't wait for the electricity and gas companies to contact you - phone up on the day you move with the meter readings.Get a change of address form for your council tax, redirect your mail via the Royal Mail website if need be (not sure if you're living with parents at the moment), make a list of each company you'll need to contact to update addresses ready to do so when you move in (banks, electoral roll etc).Go round your local shops to ask for boxes for packing.
  • Ok il phone them up, how do i know who the suppliers are though?

I will get in touch with everyone i need to regards change of address. Moving out parents house so dont need to worry about redirecting mail, can just tell the companies as they send the mail out.

Everything boxed up and ready to go, staying at parents tonight, gfs tomorrow then flat on Friday......

What can go wrong at this stage!!!!

check the home report if you get one - it normally has the suppliers listed or get your solicitor to ask the sellers.
