'Now for anyone looking in, please feel free to join - the more the merrier! Basically, decide on the amount you want to spend up to from Sunday until the end of the working day on Friday then pledge it here and off we go! The challenge is about incidental spending and not for stuff that should be budgeted elsewhere such as bills, groceries, debt repayment etc but you decide what to include at the end - this is about changing your habits and improving your recording of your spends more than anythng else.

The reason the challenge is up to Friday is that I like to give myself a day off the counting and let my hair down a bit'

I'll report back shortly once I have my final total for the week and next weeks targets, lets see lots of green people!!!

well I spent a total of £36.25 so £1.25 over budget, knew it was close!!! oh and today is a nsd, used my cinema card and took munchies with me so free movie :D

for next week's budget I'm saying £0 for food (did a big shop yesterday and shouldn't need anything) and I've put £5 in my purse but actually aiming for a no spend week!

Well my effort to spend only £22 plus petrol didn't go too badly - ended up with around £5 left - well chuffed.
I have just over £20 in my purse so I'm saying £20 for this week.

I have plenty of food in (did a big shop yesterday) and am not travelling with work this week so should be an easy week for petrol and extras.

    Good luck to everyone,

I'll join in this week - budget of £10 from today till end of the day on Thursday (going away for long weekend from Friday so will be letting my hair down a day early ;) ) - this is to include bus fares as I'm trying to encourage myself to walk more, and it's more motivation if the money's coming out of my 'extras' budget.

Have a good week all

  • hiya lynsay, well my budget last week was £120.00 and i spent £139.18 :o i am not too worried though as i had a great time and thats all that matters... this week i have budget of £13.80, i have taken £10 out of the wall and i have the remainder of the change in my purse. Today i have done a small shop though,

    lemonade ~ 39p
    carrier bag ~ 3p
    my surface wipes ~ 1.49
    fromage frais * 2 ~ 38p
    jelly beans ~ 44p
    rubber gloves ~ 69p

    total = £3.42

this then takes my budget down to £10.38 which is fine as i have the week off work and i have only got to get some of my face stuff and crickets, so thats not too bad :)

have a great week all, and thanks again lynsay for holding fort :T

    Afternoon everbody :hello:

Total spend for the week was £19.40, so just within £20 budget :j

Would have been well within it had it not been for £13.70 on prescription charges on Thursday.

This week I'll challenge myself and reduce my budget to £12.00.

Starting off with a NSD for Sunday!

Enjoy the rest of the weekend.
