Book tokens. Can they be changed?

I have several book tokens, for a bit of value. I know that once you make a buy you don't get change back . But it is very rare that I would spend in one go £25. I wonder if one book token of ...say £25, could be changed for 2 book tokens of maybe £10 and £15. So that it would still be book tokens (no monetary value), would that be possible?

It would help if you explained what these 'book tokens' are0

I kow if you buy something worth less than the book token, they'll give you change in book tokens up to the nearest pound and coins for the pence change. But I don't know if you can just swap them outright for smaller values. Maybe asking at a bookshop that takes them is your best bet.Public appearances now involve clothing. Sorry, it's part of my bail conditions.0

If you are talking about the paper book tokens, they don't give change on them. But I thought they had discontinued them? Or they were going to. Check on the book tokens website as they will not be accepted after a certain time - that's what I was told at Waterstones a few months back. The new book tokens are on a plastic card - any money that you don't use, remains on the card till you use it up.0

I didn't know that they were discontinued. However, the paper ones don't have expiry date so they can always be exchanged in store. I just lost a bit of track as I have never used them I used to buy online a lot cheaper than in store, so they have been always there. Now that you can use them as well online I don't know how it will work out (pricewise) but yes, still "usable".0

You are right, the paper ones don't have expiry date. But they will not be doing those anymore. How can you use the paper ones online? The ones I had did not have an online code to use. Like you, I also found that I was not using the paper ones in shop as quite often the prices online were cheaper (even after taking postage into account). I ended up selling mine in the local paper. Look on ebay - so many people are selling them and getting a good price.0
