Well that's a big 'Thank You' to a Canadian for pointing that out to us all! :D

Here at home, the OFT has produced a nice little video that explains it all as if they're talking to a 3 yr old!

And some dental wag has made his own version.

    How to find a dentist.
    1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
    2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
    3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
    4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.

That might be he CERAC system which it a very clever CAD/CAM machine that mills the restoration from a block of material.

It would still count as a Band 3 if it were done on he NHS, but I would guess it was more likely to be a private option.

That's it, the CERAC System. It says it on their website.

    Just a few more things...

    1. White fillings are usually only available on the NHS for front teeth
    2. White fillings take longer to do as they are more tricky and, timewise, more costly
    3. Amalgam is harder wearing so usually preferred at the back anyway

(I used to work for an NHS primary care trust until a couple of months ago so know the routine for our customer care line off by heart!)
