Help me make extra

Haven't used this area of the site but have been browsing.

I'm looking for a way to make extra online and see in peoples signatures they make 'x amount' through certain things but I don't know where to start !!

I do work but only 4 days out of 7. A second job though is not possible due to me having pets, would need to be something I could do at home/locally.

Any advice please ?

  • Maybe look through the threads and see what's for you? What you feel you'd be interested in doing and have time for... Then ask more detailed questions on those threads? I've had a lot of help here. But it depends what appeals to you. :)

What kind of figure do you get if you add up vet's bills. pet food and general maintenance of them?

This probably won't go down well, but would you be significantly better off without the pets?

That's kinda like saying 'get rid of the kids, it'll save you money'

Kinda more like sending the kids out on a paper round or similar to pay their way.....

I knew it wouldn't go down well with some, but the OP may have to consider it.

I would probably be financially better off with no pets but would rather live a happy life and not be rich than cut back on things I love so that I have a bit of money. We aren't poor but it would be nice to have some extra.

How anyone could just ' get rid of pets' they already have is shocking, pets aren't a throwaway item. Would you get rid of the kids if you had any?? No wonder so much animal cruelty goes on when people have oppinions like that.

Sorry to everyone else who helped, gone off on a bit of a rant. Will check out all the advice given. Thanks again.

You are absolutely right. People who have pet, they love them as their kids. It is not an easy task to get rid of a pet and I am against it.

Animal welfare is a biggie for me, I am a volunteer for a dog rescue so see a lot of excuses. I get that some people genuinely have no other option and genuinely cannot afford their pets, I am not on here saying that I am surviving on one tin of beans a week though cos I have to feed my pets, I am just looking for ways to make a little more.

At no point did I say 'get rid of' your pets, merely that since you're the one who wants 'a bit extra' in your pocket, you might consider deducing exactly how much of your household budget is spent on them, and see if you're spending more than you thought you were, or more than you can realistically afford.

What you do from there is up to you.
