Ring the PDL on or before the due date and say you can't make the payment on your due date but you can on Jan 26th and ask them to freeze the interest after the due date that way you can pay the PDL and get out of it and then pay Januarys rent also."All truths are easy to understand once they are discovered, the point is to discover them."

It all depends on your tenancy agreement and landlord. If you are the tenant of a private landlord you could end up with a section 21 which is a "no fault" possession notice. There is no defence to a section 21 and the landlord WILL be given possession. You are basically asking your landlord to "loan" you the rent money for 3 weeks interest free. I think the very least you can do is pick up the phone and speak to your landlord. He/She may disagree and serve notice. Or they may say ok - you get yourself out of a bind and they get their rent money - albeit late. I am a private landlord and if my tenant explained that situation to me I would ok you can do it this once and then forget about it. If they just decided to pay late and not forewarn me I would serve a section 21 and show them the door. If you want to be treated like an adult with respect and decency you have to treat others the same way. Which means picking up the phone and being honest.0

I think just try to avoid payday loans as much as you can.. It can help you a lot if you just need something for short term and pay it back right away... But if you're looking to borrow money for long term, payday loans is not an option for you.. Maybe check with your bank for services that they can offer for you..0

Wonga can't chuck you out of your house but your LL can. So that is where your priorities should lie.
LL's are not in it to provide a social service, they are trying to earn a living, usually with a large amount of capital tied up in the property.
Quite often the rent is being used to pay the mortgage, so any back sliding by the tenant could seriously affect the LL's ownership of the house.
I would be very unhappy if I had a tenant who was not paying the rent and would not put up with it for long. There are plenty of prospective tenants out there who are able to pay their rent and are looking for somewhere to live.As they say, do the math.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0
