Moving Pension Plans: which trustee?

Hi All,

I intend to transfer 10k I hold in 10 different funds within a Portfolio Plus Pension into a SIPP. This is primarily as the company I hold the current plan with are not able to tell me how funds are doing; I also want to avoid relatively high management charges.

To transfer the current plan in a SIPP with, say, selftrade.com I would need to go via a trustee.

Question 1: Do the different trustees I could go with differ with regards to what they charge?
Q2: Can anyone recommend a particular trustee?
Q3: Should I involve a Financial Advisor in the transferral?
Q4: Any particular hurdles I should be aware of when using trustees? The forms I need to complete suggest it's a straightforward exercise.

Thank you and best wishes,

MT
