Just found this blog with some delightful easy crotchet decorations. I like the teeny tiny stars but if you scroll down the page to "Ta dah moments" also Advent garland, Christmas decorations & bird decorations.

Crotchet is really easy and so quick, just getting the hang of holding the wool is the key so the hook does the work! I'm sure there must be online tutorials.Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!
