    As long as you only ask for a basic account then you should be able to get an account with any bank, as these have no credit facility and so do not require a credit check.

    However the key thing is to choose a bank that are not connected to any of your current creditors. Co-op basic bank accounts are popular on these forums, as are barclays. Though obviously these wouldn't be suitable if you owe them money currently or if they are your current bank that the newer payday lenders have gone in to.
