I wonder if some of these companies use the same manufacturers as I've always worn Cotton Trader boots (rubber foot area then suede to half way up the leg) - always lasted years and this except for this year - the inner heels went in on 3 pairs (exchanges) until I evenutally gave up

Sad to hear that Hunter's have declined in quality. I'm still wearing a pair i bought in 1997 and they have lasted superbly!

I bought a rather fetching purple pair of Hunters 2 years ago and I had to replace them 14 months later with a pair of Barbours.

Have to say the Barbours are still going strong.

My hunters are on their 3rd year, best to buy from costco and when they go wrong you gte 5 years to take em back

My friend complained that her hunters had started leaking 4 weeks after she bought them and was told that they were not meant to be worn in muddy fields!!
