Has the mortgage report and valuation been done and returned?

  • You should definitely call them. I am also applying for a mortgage (actually two mortgages) through the Coventry. Two and a half weeks ago I called up for a progress report and was told my mortgages would be going into offer "the next day" so I duly agreed to a completion date in the middle of December. I discovered yesterday (thanks to my solicitor alerting me to the fact that he had heard nothing) that due to some kind of recurrent IT fault, the mortgages are still sitting in underwriting as no one has been able to send out the offer letters. Staggering incompetence, but demonstrates that you can rely on most people to stuff things up unless you are constantly on top of them. No wonder this country has economic problems...
