Just wondered how far back mortgage companies go when asking for your address history. And also how many previous addresses are normally considered acceptable?

Generally 3 years. Regardless of what is considered 'acceptable' you need to disclose all addresses.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Ok thanks.
I read before that if you have lived at many addresses it looks bad on your file?0 -
It will depend upon whether you registered on the electoral roll, whether you changed bank accounts, credit cards etc. and how close to the exact dates you lived there vs what is declared.
If the lender finds inconsistency they do not like it, the more addresses the higher the chance of inconsistency.

Ok thanks again.
I noticed on my experian file although I moved into my current address June 2011 I wasn't put on the electoral roll until September 2011. Will this be a problem?0 -
It probably won't be a problem, but tell them the reason why, so they know.
