we used to have the opening of the stockings on the end of our bed, 3 kids plus stockings plus any available cat, not too early. One year though we woke up late and realised no one had got up to do stockings and that was the year when we knew the 1 st lovely childhood stage was all over. since then the stockings go under the tree, once everyone is up, shaved, dressed, vegetables done, breakfast on the coffee table then its time for stockings - they have to take turns and open one item at a time, 1st thing they touch Afterwards the dinner is started, coffee time and then we start opening the main presents, again they take turns and I decide in which order as I am the Christmas dictator :rotfl:
Some years the really big presents don't get opened until after dinner or if the present pile is huge!

Once again thank you for all your kind wishes.
Must admit we did celebrate last night and I have had a sore head for most of the day!!!
