Making the reindeer cakes wasn't planned and I had to improvise..I knew my DD wanted to make cakes for school, and then I suddenly thought lets see if we can make them chismassy...so I found this recipe and pinched the topping idea, my DD made her own cakes.

The only smarties I had were from the smarties penguins I had bought in asda for 50p and I only had 2. Had to pop to my local shop and pay £2.39 for giant buttons (ouch) plus £1.50 for 2 packs of white buttons and would you believe I didn't have enough curly wurlys, so 2 of those. I couldn't get pretzels, luckily my OH thought of curly wurlys and we decided not to try to make mouths.
I think we will be making a few more now as they were really nice, I did get one lol..my DD wants to make them for family and friends and I think we'll stick to doing them our way, without pretzels.0 -

thank you Rosie25 for the suggestion of cones for the sweets. I had lots from fillers and had some cello bags left over from my snowman soup so dd's friends are getting these for no extra cost to me0

nictrinwyn your cakes looked lovely - more original than me. Made mince tarts (with the 30p Robinsons:D) last night with granddaughter, for her sch party.
Got a telling off from daughter, telling me to slow down(shopping:o) as op just 2 weeks ago. I am ok, but suppose she just showing she cares..... and wants me around to babysit:rotfl:.
Oh yes saw bizarre/funny thing this morning. In car park - customer and member of Boots staff, two display shelves (on wheels) full of the Soap and Glory £27 from £60 gift sets and a whole cage full of them. They were trying to fit them into a small car, wasn't going to happen as after the two display shelves it was looking pretty full to the rafters.
Hope he used his advantage card :rotfl:0 -
