How the chuffing heckers do i scan things barcodes into this app? It's not picking anything up

Re the app - I've dropped them an email as a few of us have been having trouble. I still can't scan the Red Bull and the Diet Coke had to be done in the garden under natural light. I'm going to try again in the morning:happylove Nanny to 2 Cherubs :happylove0 -
