Savvybuyer wrote: »Right, this is a T v S comp as you're buying Sally Hansen - don't get a loose carrot at T as the price is 90p/kg at S. If buying carrots, perhaps the Tesco Everyday Value Carrots pack 1.5kg for 89p as that size are same price in S. Loose bananas are now 'quite a lot' more at T than A (A=68p/kg) so should only be on a T v A comp in T, but really should be put an A v M comp. assuming M are still 68p/kg this week. A parsnip isn't really that good as you're overpaying in T compared to S same price). They are 1.70/kg in T/S vs 1.50/kg for A, so should be bought in T only if doing an A comp (which you're not).
The Stock Cubes seem good - they're also 10p each in S - but I thought they were best on an A v S or A v T comp. Nonetheless, A seems to be OOS at the moment, so T v S (i.e. your shop) seems okay. Rim block 'should' be on an A v T comp as 20p at both. It seems it won't lose you anything T v S, but A would give you 2p on an APG shop (vs T).
T Eday Value Tinned Tomatoes - 31p T vs S 31p. But, again, A vs T or A vs S would be 31p minus 3.1p. But, if you need tinned tomatoes, buy the East End Tomatoes tins (400g) in fours - 4 for £1 - at T as these should be N/A vs S. (Works out 25p each, which is cheaper than 10% cheaper than 31p A v T's value tomatoes tins.)
If you are spending 31p on a filler item, then may as well try Wibisco Coconut or Wibisco Shirley Coconut Biscuits (100g packs) at 23p each as not stocked in S (in fact two filler items). I assume you're using bag reuse as one of your eight different items.
How about trying mixing 1x Tesco Washing Up Liquid Apple (500ml) with 1x Tesco Washing Up Liquid Original (500ml) and reporting back to see if it gives any refund? (T 2 for 1.50; S is 2 for 1.20 - S is (just) 10% difference in size - 450 ml - so will it give you 15p (or 30p if it fails to adjust for size) - or N/A, but it counts as 2 items?) But it's more expensive than Eday Value Washing up liquid, which you can't buy as the equivalent to that is more expensive in S.
Aasini Mango Nectar (1L) and Aasini Tropical Juice Drink (1L) cartons seem excellent at the moment, as they're 23p each in T but N/A in S (and count as 2 different items). Good luck finding them in T.
Otherwise, your 10p Haribo sweets. Or T Eday Value Batter Mix 7p vs S 7p (but loses you 0.7p compared to buying at AvT or AvS).
T Eday Value Chicken Noodles 11p, T Eday Value Curry Flavour Noodles 11p (but again both lose you 1.1p each compared to Av T or S), Eday Value Rice Pudding 400g - 12p T 12p S (but loses 1.2p compared to if bought at A vs T or S). T Eday Value Milk Chocolate Eclairs 27p. T Eday Value Chocolate Mousse 4pk (but should be A v T, not T vs S N/A).
Good luck.- A complete nutjob or

It's good isn't it? I never buy anything in T, S, M or W if any comparable equivalent is available in A, as then A v the appropriate competitor is cheaper via APG!!!! Only buy in T items which are cheapest in T and N/A at A, or items on which T is more expensive than S or M (whichever you're comparing T against: S or M of course being cheaper than anyone else on that item) and the item must also be N/A at A (otherwise best getting at Av S or M, or Av T if T is cheapest and it's an own brand that you can't brand match S v T and which is also N/A in A. If not N/A in A, then A v T where S is more expensive than T and M and W aren't cheaper).
Thank you. Finished on this for now and goodnight.0 -
