    Sales, boots, charity shops, ebay- why would anyone ever pay full price for anything??!

    Aldi sell tuna in brine for 57p per tin, normal price. It's just as good as John West, i buy it every week.

    Has anyone tried the Smart Price tuna? It's about 50p a tin.

    I looked at the info on the tin and the ingredient is 'Skipjack' tuna, as opposed to Tuna (fish) on the dearer tins. Anyone know the difference?

    sorry not sure about the answer to this but ive tried the smartprice tuna and its disgusting! got a really excessive 'fishy' taste to it- i know i know, its fish (go ahead everyone!!) but it tastes like the smell of a harbour fishing boat imo!

    I was just going to say this myself, I have been getting ALDI tuna for a while and it is just as good as the branded tins.

    Empty shelf, but I saw about 6 boxes waiting to be packed on the shelf. By the time they put them out I doubt I'd be lucky to get any. Will check back in the morning hopefully.

    Love a Bargain - Thought today was the last day of the offer so maybe the new stock will be a different weight or something and back to usual price.

    You could be right there - I have just checked the weight of the old tins of Princes I have in my store cupboard (185g) against the newer tins of John West also in there and that is only 160g. So, yes, I guess we will be seeing smaller cans of Princes when it's back on the shelves, bringing it down to John West weight!
