Why are the offers in the Mirror not posted?

    Hi JJ
As the opening posts says - if YOU buy/read the Mirror, perhaps YOU would be kind enough to post on here to let the rest of us know what offers are in the Mirror - or even to say there is nothing on offer, as Nudge does for example with the Express.

This thread is only as good as its contents - and with the best will in the world no one has either the time or the money to buy all the papers and give a detailed post about them all every day.

I simply try and start the thread off every day and have a general scout around on HUKD for example to see if I can find any other "newspaper" offers out there.

There is also always a link on the second post to that days front pages. With some papers you can then go onto get a detailed look at the papers front page where 'offers' are sometimes advertised, but unfortunately this is not always the case. For some papers you have to be registered/pay to have on line access.
Unfortunately when I open the thread in the early hours these front pages are usually not updated from the previous day

Having had a quick look now it seems the Mirror has a £5 off at WHSmiths - but I cannot seem to zoom in to find out the page number or the details about how much you have to spend.

For the record, I did post yesterday that there was an offer for free wrapping paper in Thursdays Mirror - something I read about on HUKD.

    Hope that explains the situation.
So, if you buy/read the Mirror regularly, perhaps you would be our regular reporter for the Mirror and post daily updates ? - even if it is just to say, nothing in todays paper.

    Thanks

Firstly, many thanks for the answers re the posting of newspapers. I hadn't realised that it was only the papers that the op or other people brought who posted what was inside each one, Many apologies for that,

Also, I'd like to apologise for the abrupt tone of my original post. I'm not a happy JJ at the moment, as my beloved cat has been missing since Monday. As a consequence, I'm not sleeping very well, and I think I let my angst escape onto the the comp this morning, I didn't mean to cause upset. If, in future I can help by posting about vouchers etc in the papers, I will endeavour to do so.

Very sorry to hear about your missing cat - I have one of my own so can understand how upsetting (nay devastating) it must be.
Mine has managed to get himself locked into garages/shed before now, especially in this cold weather, looking for somewhere out of the elements...... although I am sure you have already tried there.
Fingers crossed your cat turns up soon.

Back on the topic of newspapers.
Yes we are just a diy community passing on information about newspapers, with the over-riding idea of saving money and getting a bargain.
Free cds/dvds, money off vouchers, token collects for cheap holidays etc....
Anything which might be of interest - like the free wrapping paper yesterday in the Mirror.
It might be an advert you have seen on TV or in your paper today telling you about an offer which is due to be in the paper tomorrow or next week......
It could be a voucher for a free ice-cream with a carvery.
Occasionally it will be the chance to get 2 or 4 free cinema tickets...

In lots of cases sharing the information on here means other will buy a paper they normally wouldn't ...... because they want to get that DVD or collect tokens for a cheap holiday.
In many cases it means that other do not even have to buy a paper - because often there is a way to get a discount (£value or %) online by using a code etc..... or in the case of cinema tickets just registering with a certain company on-line and using a "password"

There is much much more to the thread, and if you stick around I am sure you will soon pick up the general idea.

Any contribution about The Mirror or any other paper would be very welcome.:)

Forgot to say, the earlier peeps post about offers/voucher/freebies the better of course.
Gives us all a chance to get a copy (or two) before they are sold out.
It is also important because some of the offers/vouchers are only valid for that one day.... so again it is helpful if peeps can mention any use by/valid till dates printed in the paper.
It is very frustrating to find out at 8pm at night that there was a voucher in the Metro for a free sandwich that day only, when you made do with a cup-a-soup at lunchtime, and your office is next door to the sandwich shop;)

Having said that, it is never too late to post about vouchers/offers when you do spot them..... even if it is days later (as long as the voucher/offer has not expired)
I am sure I am not the only one who has been diving into their recycling bin to dig out an old paper...... or to be phoning around friends and family to ask if someone still has a 2 day old newspaper:p

"I DONT KNOW IF U HAVE READ THE METRO TODAY BUT KFC IS ACTUALLY SERVING SOME FREE BLUEBERRY PANCAKES FOR TOMORROW AND THIS SUNDAY. YOU WILL NEED VOUCHERS. IT WILL BE FOUND IN METRO NEWSPAPERS. DONT KNOW IF ITS NATIONWIDE."

I have just skimmed through dd copy of Metro and cannot see anything, so perhaps this is regional ?

..... just realised alexseno said "it will be found in Metro Newspapers" so presume that means it will be in tomorrows Metro

  • Hi JJ Funny Guy and All
Have only just had time to read your responses. I am sorry if I sounded curt yestetday too. Guess it seemed like criticism of people that do am amazing job for us every day. I do hope your cat returns soon. I too know what that is like...our curious little cat has been locked in garages on a couple of occasions.
I just want all the regular contributors to this page know that people like myself that somehow lead very hectic lives really do appreciate all the hard work you regulars do .

I think it must be regional, couldn't spot anything for KFC in a copy of Friday's Metro picked up in the Bristol area. (I'm told there is no Metro Sat/Sun if someone could confirm).
