Why are my windows always pouring with condensation in winter?

We have a condensation problem, too.
I have one of those Karcher Window Cleaner tools and now I vacuum the water off the windows a couple of times a day. (Got fed up with wasting kitchen roll every day). This helps deal with the problem - but doesn't solve it, though.0 -
Because the glass is cold relative to the room air. my 2 windows which are not double glazed are like this.0

I always sleep with my bedroom window open, no matter how cold outside. A good duvet will keep you warm even with windows open.
You must ventilate the house otherwise you'll get condensation so always open kitchen window when cooking, sleep with bedroom window open a little and open bathroom window immediately after showering etc.0 -
Is your double glazing 'blown' i.e. the gas that's between the panes is no longer there because the panes aren't set in the frames properly, and so the coldness of the outside is going straight accross the gap and making the inside pane cold thereby making a place where the water will condense (water will always condense on cool surfaces. Walls are also a good spot, you can't always see this but mould will grow there).just in case you need to know:

You refer to having 'fires' in certain rooms - isn't moisture one of the by products of burning some fuels? Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0

I think we'd be the same if we didn't have a dehumidifyer. It's all the steam that's produced from just such everyday things, cooking, boing the kettle, showers & baths, drying laundry when it's too cold & wet to hang it outside as well as lots of people in a room just breathing! We've got an Ebac dehumidifyer & have had it probably nearly 15 years. It's still working, still amazes me what it sucks out of the atmosphere. It doesn't need to be running full pelt all day every day. I barely use it at all in Spring/Summer. If there are lots of pans boiling, etc, I crank it up to 5 which is the top setting, the rest of the time it's fine on a 2 & even on a 1 overnight. I've got it in the room with the worst condensation problem, which is the conservatory. This doubles as our dining room, so I was getting fed up with damp floors & black mould starting from the coondensation, but the dehumidifyer is so far coping with this & everything's feeling a lot 'dryer'. I still open the windows when I can, but this time of the year, it really is cold to want them open very long.2025's challenges: 1) To fill our 10 Savings Pots to their healthiest level ever
