  • Awwww shucks ..... blown away with all your lovely wishes as usual ... thanks all:)

Pleased to say I'm feeling a little more human this morning!;) (which just shows what sleeping a few extra hours during the day can do for you!)

Had a lovely visit with Mum yesterday (I was sleeping when she arrived :o) and we took Maisie for a lovely walk on the beach and she behaved herself really well :T and Mum was really impressed with how much progress we've made

Can't quite believe it but .... I've had hear nearly a year  where does the time go!

I then went for another snooze when she left :o

So ..... on the money front - got new car tax disc on Friday so car fund a bit depleted ..... but - had a bit of a disaster yesterday .... came downstairs from my snooze after mum left to find a wet patch at the bottom of the stairs & Maisie's bed was soaking :( (she like lying here so it's an old duvet in a cover that's easily moved when needed) ... moved it all and put a towel down (did wonder if she'd had an *accident* but there was no smell).

Anyway, 1st towel soaked up the wet so put a 2nd down (mainly for her to lie on) and it got wetter & wetter .... finally did some deeper investigating and .... the bloomin' radiator was leaking

Queue phone call to Dad to ask him how to turn it off totally .... me being unable to turn it off (still having problems with my joints & I couldn't turn it off:o) so I ended up having to get my neighbour to come over & help.

Finally managed to get it turned off & drained - so at least I can have the rest of the heating on ... which is just as well as it's snowing here this morning  but obviously need a new radiator  *sigh* emergency fund will be gone again!

Just as well it didn't happen during the night or on a day when I was out at work or it could've been worse ....

It is a bit cold in here this morning tho:( the hall radiator's the one that keeps the chill off the whole house (not one in the hall upstairs so the heat from it helps up there too) ..... brrrrrrr

    Oh well ... how's everyone?

Plan for today ...... walk with Maisie (when it stops snowing!), hunt for cheap radiator and .... snoozing!:o

  • ohhhh there's always something isn't there *sigh*

Anyway - good news is that I've managed to find a replacement at a reasonable cost. It's got 20% off :) which can go to paying the delivery charge.

Now .... those who know me well know I seriously object to paying delivery charges & will always try to get to min orders for free delivery BUT in this case it's not feasible and the nearest store is miles away - worked fuel cost out to be around £12 and £6 for delivery so ...... total is around £40 :Tso better than I was expecting!

Hoping my dad may fit it (he's installed radiators in houses we've lived in in the past but he's not too well atm so not sure if he'll be able to come) .... we'll see!

Seems to have stopped snowing so better get a move on & get out with Maisie before it starts again!

  • Ahhhh keep your fingers crossed - that's the cost for the radiator ..... still have to get it fitted:eek:

DF hoping he may be able to come up but he's not too well himself just now so ... even if he comes he may not be able to do it (unfortunately he has problems with his hands too) so may need to find a plumber :eek::eek:

Glad Monday's over ..... shattered again :o - wishing the days away until Easter when I get a proper long weekend / time to catch up!

Can't believe it's March this week

  • Might have to take my knitting into work for lunchtimes!:o

Since I've stopped the evil sticks I'm finding my 1/2 hour break very long!

Of course ... there's always the local shops  and after buying 2 t-shirts today I've decided that I need to find something to do so I don't go out ....... reading's out as I really feel my eyes need a break (work is now 100% screen work :() and chance to relax for a bit so it's got to be something crafty - and something easily picked up / put down .....

Did buy a "crafty" magazine (see!!!!) on Friday with a fab crochet blanket in .... thought I could try that as it's in little squares ..... went on that crochet course last year and haven't done a lot of it since :o

    Other suggestions welcomed:)
