Well after watching super scrimper savers thing the other night I thought 'd have a go at making the paper hearts as it was about the only useful thing on the show!

I know some will be horrified at making it out of using old books, but you can use magazines as well. I have a lot of old books that no one has ever finished reading so don't think it's that awful, they are just being put to good use, well the one book I used was!

Heres the finished product :)

Details are.. somewhere I'm not allowed to tell you apparently :p

My daughter feels the same lol If it's any help it really was an awful book ;) The author still got his/her money and my son readily gave it up when I said I needed an old book :D But I do understand what you are saying.

I have just had a thought, don't see why you couldn't use newspaper too, just leave out any coloured pictures :)

I think it looks great, and I don't mind using books. There are some books in the world which quite frankly would go up substantially in my estimation by being made into something attractive. Danielle Steel books for example.

Maybe just check you haven't got a first edition Dickens before you get the scissors out!

It looks very pretty. :) But I was told by a board guide that you're not allowed to mention your own blog/website link so you may want to edit that bit out.

Sorry, didn't realise this, thought it was okay as I didn't actually put the link here! lol

nothing wrong with trying to increase traffic to a website that is all about creating things for very little money n my view. You're not asking for donations!!

Hey, no offense intended. It was a statement of fact, in good faith. I was trying to help because I was told that mentioning your own site or saying "link in profile" could get your post deleted. As you have posted the link instead, I think the thread is safe and the OP still gets the traffic.

I made these for our wedding :) (You can buy them on Etsy using old books at an extortionate price - I had 56 of them around the garden and it cost me around £14 in good quality card).
