Can I get a loan using my e-bond savings account?

Have you tried giving the New Zealand visa people a copy of the bond statement? They many well accept it and not immediately realise that you can't access the cash straight away. Then all you need to borrow is a couple of thousand for 1st 2 months expenses.
I would also encourage you to go into a branch and explain your problem face to face, they may well be able to do something in extenuating circumstances. It will probably cost a chunk of cash though.

As per posts 2 & 4 it is incredibly unlikely.

Someone with no job that was planning to stay in the UK would not be able to get a loan for a couple of thousand, let alone someone using it to travel around the world so not sure what exactly you think they could do.

You could delay NZ for 12 months then have a £15k war chest to go and find a job.

That's what I was thinking, I thought they might be able to offer me some sort of arrangement as I definitely have the money to pay them back
