Janome 7025 Sewing Machine

Options
Hello,

Im hoping that someone can give me some feedback on the Janome 7025 from John Lewis?? I would like to buy from them as they are a well known company and if anything should go wrong I'm sure they'd be willing to assist.

Apart from the odd mending and craftwork, I am a complete beginner in terms of using a machine however Id prefer to buy a decent machine now. Instead of getting better and needing one with more functions.
I'll mostly be using it for dressmaking, but I am interested in embroidery and also wondered if its possible to do quilting on this model??

If anyone has this machine or knows more, please can you tell me more information about it such as what type of feet are included, functions etc..

Thanks :D

  • Hello, I have a janome sewing machine although not this exact model number and its fantastic. I use mine professionally as I'm a tailor and I wouldn't swap it and I've had Berninas in the past too but the janome compares favourably. To be honest I don't use the embroidery stitches but find they're quite basic but you can add variety by using the double needle which I assume it'll come with. Mine also came with a clear foot, a zipper foot and a solid metal foot and an attachment for equally measuring out the distance in quilting (mine's pretty much the same as your model in what it does its just a different model number which may be more to do with mine being about 5 years old now rather than anything it can do differently to yours) That was about it as far as accessories were concerned but you can buy lots of extras like feet from eBay quite cheaply. Like I say mine is about 5 years old and gets some hammer 5 days a week and its never given me an ounce of bother in all that time. If I can help any further just ask, regards, Julie x

I have a Janome QC4800 and I must say for a domestic machine I've been really impressed with the build quality of it..I did manage to break it a while back and it cost me a fair bit to put right but I am REALLY heavy handed as I'm more used to industrial machines.

It's easy to thread, bobbin winding is great and the onestep buttonholing is excellent.

When you say quilting I haven't read all the specs does it do freehand motion or was it just stitching in the ditch sort of stitching you mean? It'd cope ok with fairly thick fabric or a few layers but for really chunky stuff I'd exercise caution (not like me lol)

I buy my needles, spare bobbins etc from Ebay usually as they're cheaper and I've had mine 5 years or so used regularly and never had to replace the bulb yet either :D
