The Sun as follows;
"A single mum is suing the Halifax Bank for harassment - claiming it made her life hell with a barrage of calls about her overdraft. Alison Turner, 31, was charged £775 in penalty fees for going "a few pounds overdrawn. The mum of two's lawyer forced the bank to scrap the charges. But it took seven weeks for the money to come off her account. And that sparked thirty three phone calls and letters to Alison from the bank's collections department. Alison, a personal assistant, of Plymouth, Devon, said: "I was bullied by the bank and made to feel a failure for getting into debt." The case is due at Exeter County Court on May 21. If she is successful it could open the floodgates for other customers."
Might be worth keeping an eye out for this one!I stopped smoking 25th June 2007STILL Never complacent but confidentMy debt is GOING DOWN!!!!0 -
Are there regulations about how many times a person can contact you to collect a debt? I have no idea, but I'd like to see her succeed.
Wonder what she's asking for though? Do you think it warrants compensation, or do you think the judge should just tell Halifax off and limit them to chase her, say, twice a week if necessary?DFW #414, MoneySaver, Income Booster

I think it may depend on the nature of the calls as well. Particularly with the emphasis of bullying, perhaps the court will rule what can be defined as bullying. Perhaps we should all start recording the calls in preparation!!I stopped smoking 25th June 2007STILL Never complacent but confidentMy debt is GOING DOWN!!!!0
