Does laser lipo work?

Does laser lipo work? I am 12 stone 7 and 5ft 5. I need to loose weight. I have a disability and problems with my balance which prevents me from using the gym :( how else could I loose weight? does anyone have any good ideas?

Eat less and exercise more. Doesn't have to be a gym, can you walk or ride a bike?

If you can walk then that is an ideal gentle exercise start with say half a mile and build it up to about 5 miles 3 times a week.

This combined with eating a healthy fresh diet will see you loose weight at a healthy rate.

Laser lipo is not clinically proven and, in my opinion, should only be advertised with a line that states that. It is a scam and does not work (if it did the NHS would be prescribing it to millions of us).

It's easy to think that if you can't exercise then you can't lose weight but this is not true. In fact it's really difficult to lose weight through exercise alone as you burn far fewer calories exercising than you would think.

Losing weight is more than 90% about what you eat, so if you want to lose weight then moderating your calorie intake is the way to go.

If you have the money then slimming clubs such as WeightWatchers are an option, but I much prefer MyFitnessPal. It's an online website with forums and the option to make friends Facebook-style (only if you wish). But the best thing is it has an online calorie counter. Just sign up and log your calories (there are loads of branded items which makes it easier). You can even use a barcode scanner app if you have a smart phone. And - in true money-saving style - it's completely free!

For slow, steady and achievable weight loss that you will keep off (1lb-2lb a week - any more and you will be losing muscle as well as fat), I would suggest you each to your BMR (the amount of calories you need to function if you just lay in bed all day).

For your height and weight this would be roughly 1500 calories a day (double check it here: http://www.bmi-calculator.net/bmr-calculator/).

If you do want to try exercise too then put a shout out on one of the MyFitnessPal forums - lots of people on there have mobility problems too and might have some good ideas.

You can find MyFitnessPal here: https://www.myfitnesspal.com/

    Good luck!
