US clothes retailer J.Crew - something of a US Boden with aspirations to become a second Tommy Hilfiger - has a huge online sale at their website /sale.jsp (sorry - I'm too much of a newbie to post links!). Remember to change your country to the UK using the link on the top right to use the deals.
J.Crew almost always have a nice sale page running, but, until December 30th, they're also offering duty-free, postage-free UK purchases. Fun stuff. I have quite a lot of J.Crew clothes from their past promotions, including an utterly lovely £40 (!) 100%-cashmere jumper, and I would certainly vouch for its quality.

Doesn't look like it, though I'll go small-print-combing - I wasn't charged anything over the marked price.0 -
If customs finds the packages you may get hit with custom charge plus courier charge on top. Sometimes you get lucky otehr times you take a big hit

Most goods arriving in the UK from outside the EU are liable to any or all of the following taxes:- customs duty
- excise duty
- import VAT
- you purchase the goods or receive them as a gift
- the goods are new or used (including antiques)
- the goods are for your private use or for re-sale

It's paid in advance so you don't 'get nabbed by customs'. Quite a few of the quality US stores do the same so it's easy for them to discount the price accordingly in promotions.0
