I tried to post a scan of what the surveyor left for my neighbour today but it was too big so here are the details of what they're proposing for £7,500:
Supply & install a 1.96kW pv solar system
8 Solarworld 245W Polly MCS Ref: PV-0027/27
1 Landis & Gyr Generation Meter
1 Solarworld Fixing System
1 SMA SB 1700 Inverter0 -
Good save Loretta, Its a real shame this is still going on.
But it is, we were called out to see someone yesterday who's been quoted 4kwp for £12,000!!! on top of that they we're offering an attractive finance package which over the course of the 20year tariff added another £11,000!!! also including a few panels on a NE roof to bring it up to 4kwp.
Worse than pre-fit paybacks, better off installing yourself outside of MCS and forgoing any tariff than that. Sadly the rep didn't leave any written evidence to report to REAL.
Ah, but they would save £100/year on their electric bills...0 -
Hiya E, there's an interesting question here:

that would probably benefit from your thoughts and advice.
Mart.Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 20kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.
For general PV advice please see the PV FAQ thread on the Green & Ethical Board.0 -

Don't know what will be different to Mk1(wireless tail clamp and touch screen ?) but, old model should drop in price.
Still think it's too expensive tho!

£420 is a good price, i wouldn't do it for that.
Question, how much would you charge me for an hour travelling and three hours of you skill and knowlegde?0 -

Labour charges aside it's the Immersun which is pricey especially when the warranty period may not even cover payback time.
Till then I'm happy just running my oil rad on low when in myself to soak up some generation0
