On DMP - wife got parking ticket

Options
Are we able to write to them (parkwise) and request to pay this off in installments as we are on a DMP and can't afford to pay all in one go this month (or next month really)?

Can't fight this horrible charge as wife can't remember whether she parked on a bus stop or not (charge says parked in a restricted street during prescribed hours)

She has whizzed the first 2 letters in the bin extremely angrily and now we have to pay £90 within 14 days or it may go to court.

(And it was in my car) - so its in my name!

there is certainly no harm in asking. The other way around it might be to really cut back your food bill this month to pay it? Or could you talk to the company organizing your DMP to see whether they can do a variation on this months payment?

What parking is it ? is it issued by a council ? If not was it a private firm ? If so it is not enforceable in court !!! If council and it gets registered you can put a stat dec in and have the ticket revoked back to notice to owner stage. Just wandering where was the ticket was issued ?

I don't mean to sound unsympathetic but why did your wife throw the first 2 letters in the bin? She only has herself to blame if the charge has gone up to £90. She should be angry with herself for not remembering whether or not she parked illegally rather than angry with the authorities for doing their job. Good luck with contesting it but if you're serious about living on a budget parking illegally and throwing the notices in the bin seems absolute madness!

You MAY find that it could work to your advantage if it goes to Court. You can explain your position, re DMP, to the Court and ask for time to pay.
If the Court grants you time to pay, then the people who issued the ticket will have to accept.
