today i tryed to withdraw my fortnightly benefit from my local building society only to find that C.F.O had removed £100 in 4 X £25 units which i was unaware i owed them. A while back my wallet was stolen containing my cards, and papers which i reported to the local Police. i can only assume that the person/persons who stole the wallet used my I.D to obtain a loan or loans so its a clear case ov I.D fraud my bank are now aware and ive informed both the police and Action fraud this is all well and good but doesnt solve the problem now any suggestions on how i can apporch C.F.O and get my money returned to my account

When your wallet was stolen did you cancel the cards etc ?0 -
Your bank should assist in this, what did they say?
It's a bit unfair to say this is CFO rip-off when it has evidently been whoever stole/found your wallet that has done it.Thinking critically since 1996....0 -
It's nothing to do with the company. It looks like fraud, which should result in your bank refunding the four payments back to your account immediately.
Did you cancel your cards immediately your wallet was stolen?"There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0 -
I'm confused. If your wallet was stolen and your cards taken, why would you still be using the same account NOW? Any thief would have had a very small window of opportunity to take out a quick loan using your details, before you cancelled your cards, but you wouldn't still be using that same bank account now - you'd have a new one. And your benefits would have been paid into your new account, surely.DMP Mutual Support Thread member 244

When a card is reported as lost or stolen it is cancelled by the issuer and a replacement sent. The account sort code and account number, which are used to receive benefits, remain the same. Sort codes and account numbers aren't secret. They appear on every cheque we write, although cheques are less common than they were.0 -
When my bag was stolen my bank opened an entirely new account and transferred all my direct debits to the new one.DMP Mutual Support Thread member 244
