What about the Happyland range from ELC, my daughters aged 2 and 4 love this range. I always try to get something that will last.
Or books, a baby dolly, jigsaws, duplo lego (argos have some deals on this), play tea set.
I got some wooden alphabet blocks for my 2 that I found on here, there are a few more nice ideas too

At 12 months old, or thereabouts, absolutely anything will be accepted as a "toy". I would suggest you buy things that will be needed for your daughter e.g. clothes, bibs, shoes, sponges, etc.
If you need gifts for the sake of appearance to older siblings, I would suggest Duplo, board books or musical/phonics plastic toys. These things are all fairly durable, can withstand sick and other liquids and will still be used when she is older.0 -
My daughter is almost 14 months and we have got her a few clothes and Peppa pig pj's and toys.
As her main present we have got her a little toddler table and chairs from ikea and lots of craft things like markers that are suitable from 12 months and fingers paints as she loves doing handprints and things at toddler group. Thought this would be something a bit different and useful for the year as everyone buys her loads of toys she has too many as it is! Think will make it a tradition to buy her crafty stuff for the year every Xmas.
Lovely at this age isn't it - last year she had no idea what was going it on so its great now she can get excited about things!0 -
Thanks very much everyone for the replys! It was her bday in Nov so she got the ride on and the 1st buggy so i was struggling for ideas. But not now

Yeah defo Mrs Hoppy! No doubt she will be like how her brother was at that age - More interested in the wrapping paper! Lol xx0 -
board books esp the "thats not my" range
box of balloons mega cheap, lots of fun and you dont need to find somewhere to keep it
figures eg little people/zoo talkers ideal at this age as they are starting to use their imagination small enough for little hands but safe enough to still be chewed onthis year do something that scares you for courage is not the absence of fear just the knowledge that some things are worth the risk0 -
I'm getting my partners god daughter, who's 15 months, an Aquadoodle from the Early Learning Centre. It's 25% off until tomorrow as well so it's only £15 at the moment
