In store confusion over Morrisson vouchers

I would welcome any feedback on this as I find Morrissons side of the story hard to believe.
Last week I went shopping with my mother. We buy seperately for our respective households. At the checkout she received a £ 2.50 voucher to spend next time. I received nothing.
As we were at different tills at the time I didn't think too much about it.
This week, same thing happens, except this time I spend £ 37 and my mother spends £ 35. She gets a voucher and I don't.
I went to customer services to question this and was told that the voucher are not automatically printed off according to how much you spend but rather are triggered by certain products that you buy.
Both my mother and myself looked into her trolley but couldn't think which product(s) had triggered the voucher. We asked the lady behind customer services what products these might be but she sidestepped the question with the general gist being that she didn't know.
We then went to a supervisor who told us voucher are only given when you spend over £ 40 which is simply not true. After educating her about the vouchers that are handed out in HER store she also said that it depends on the products you buy and not how much you spend.
Well, there are not promotional signs anywhere in the store telling the customer which products might lead to a voucher at the till.
Has anyone any experience of this ?

Till spits are one of the little mysteries on life. I don't tend to get them, I think because I don't often buy processed food, sticking nainly to basic meat, fish, eggs, vegetables, that kind of thing. And I'm stingy, so don't hit target amounts.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll

Aside from the advertised "£5 of £40 spend" or the fuel vouchers which are given for gift card purchases there is no way to know what vouchers the till will give out.
The computer just calculates it and prints it out, the staff have no knowledge of what will trigger them nor any discretion over giving them out.
There's nothing anyone can do about it unfortunately and there's no use complaining as the supervisors and even managers are specifically told they can't do anything about it. Sorry!0
