You know the answer: it's the brand name.
And, no, I wouldn't buy them either.0 -
You can get Hunter's cheaper than that.
What makes them so expensive? The brand name.0 -
Hunters aren't even that good in the welly stakes - Aigle (French) are much better quality and materials but they will set you back £150 to £175 per pair!Old dog but always delighted to learn new tricks!0

Its the name as others have said. You can pick them up on M&Mdirect for around £60 though or in TKMaxx0

Hunter is a equine wear brand, hence the price tag. They do nice 'muck boots' which are reinforced wellies though£2023 in 2023 challenge - £17.79 January0

Hunter wellies used to be good, but I've been told that since they moved their manufacturing, the quality has gone down dramatically.Always look on the bright side of life ....la la la la la la la la0

I can't believe the price either. But my daughter asked for some for Christmas...so what can you do?
I got them for £60 from Costco.0 -
my sisters lasted her 15 years! mucking out, walking the dog... shes looking at a new pair £70!!!!0

I used to wear Hunters when they cost around £35, they are much more comfy than cheap wellys but don't last half as long and are leathal when they start to lose their grip.
So, not worth their high price tag IMHO.Some days you're the dog..... most days you're the tree!0 -
What size feet does your daughter wear? If she has smaller feet and fits a ladies size 5 or smaller then you can buy children's Hunter wellies which are considerably cheaper. The price usually depends on the colour when you buy kids ones. Kids ones are shorter with a reflective strip at the top at the back. I've seen lots of ladies buy kids ones. I have heard lots of people say Hunters are not what they were but I have a pair which i bought half price out of TKMaxx and mine are ok so far after a year and a half but i do hope they last longer! My last pair of wellies were just bog standard green ones out of a village farm shop for 14 quid and lasted about ten years. Whereas 2 years ago I bought my daughter ones for 25 quid during the really bad snow from a place called the Cosy Camper cos everywhere else was sold out. They looked really nice but did not last and ripped at the ankles! Shop around, have a good look at different brands, spending more doesn't always mean good quality.0
