tax refunds

Hi all ,i'm new here has anyone had any dealings with the tax refund company? its taken me 2 yrs to claim and then when i finally got refund and spent it !! they then sent me abill for 40% !! saying something like the hm tax dept forgot to take that charge off ,now i don't have the money to pay them back

    You employed a company to do something for you and you would have a contract in place to pay them.

    It doesnt matter that the HMRC paid you directly as you still owe the company. These companies are normally very efficient at making sure they have all the right clauses in the contract and they always take you to court if you dont pay. They nearly always win as well as the contracts are valid.

    I agree. Check your contract to see what you agreed to pay.

    The Tax Refund Company..... Refunds Direct..... aaaaaaaaarrrrrgh!! They get you and HMRC to do all the work and then take a nice slice of your repayment. Nice.
