Just spoke to him and he said that HMRC like to see evidence that you've tried to raise money another way (eg a bank loan) before deciding. I think I would probably be accepted for a bank loan but maybe I can just get a smaller one and still try to transfer the CC to another 0%.
I will look also into whether I could get an okayish rate on the Tesco card if I were to use that to pay the tax bill.Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)
December £361.54, November £322.28, October £288.52, September £374.30, August £223.95, July £71.45, June £251.22, May£119.33, April £236.24, March £106.74, Feb £40.99, Jan £98.54) Total for 2017 - £2,495.100 -

In the nicest possible way, you need to stop enabling OH if you want him to change. I know its not easy but you can't afford to maintain the status quo.
Bearing in mind that you are talking about increasing your mortgage, or taking out further loans and are having trouble paying a tax bill etc etc etc simply because you are paying more than your fair share of the living expenses it simply isn't fair or practical to continue as you are
If you dont pay his way for him, he will have to. Its not that he has no choice as it appears that he is not looking for alternatives and happy to let you take up his slack. It might well get ugly but imo you have no choice. To put yourself into further debt whilst he is unprepared to do what we both know is necessary is financial suicide:eek:
Sorry for being the bearer of miserable tidings, though0 -

You're absolutely right and I know it, but sometimes you just need someone else to say it too.Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)

If you applied for a credit card that would be considered platinum or gold and would most likely turn you down then you show the rejection letters to the HMRC and they may then grant you an extension....but applying for credit and being rejected hurts your credit rating so weigh up the advantages and disadvantages of doing it that way.
It's worth thinking about, I suppose I'd have to think of what order to do it all in, ie apply for (and hopefully be accepted for) another 0% card before getting turned down for a platinum card.Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)

You said you pay £28 a month (£336 a year) for boiler maintenance. How old is your boiler? Most boiler insurance is a waste of money. You may wish to read this article http://www.guardian.co.uk/money/2012/nov/30/npower-boiler-cover-plan-cold?INTCMP=SRCH0

You should ring HMRC direct and see what they have to say . I know they are under pressure to collect as much in as possible , but give it a goVuja De - the feeling you'll be here later0 -

He could (and he does run around after DS if I'm at work) but he'd moan and I like my independence!Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)
