Job Shares & Holidays

The jobshare thing shouldn't make a difference, and the actual concept of a jobshare doesn't really have any legal standing, they are just two part time workers who happen to share the equivalent of full time hours. Therefore they have rights (or not!) as individuals.
Pants isn't it. The friend I mentioned above is actually quitting his job next week (definitely this time!). The main reason being that he works away a great deal, when he goes he has to fly economy (13 hours each way!), but if his boss goes on an assignment, he books himself business class! xGone ... or have I?0 -
The office is closed on BH and that would make sense if it was the end of the week worker who was gaining, but it isn't. The Mon-Wed worker is getting 5 weeks hol plus at least 4 BH (Easter Mon, May Day, Whitsun, Aug). The Thurs-Fri worker is getting 4 weeks hols plus 1 BH (good Friday).spendless,
when I've written jobshare T&Cs I've had to make sure the wed-fri worker doesn't suffer because they don't get the 'free' days the Mon-Wed person gets as paid BHs. (If it isn't a straight pro-rata). In effect Mon worker gets 6-ish 'free' holidays and Fri worker only gets one-a bit unfair.
I wonder though, my friend took the job from a relative of hers who worked the 2 day share on Mon-Tues. It would make sense that she only got 4 weeks cos she also gained the Monday BH and the Wed-Fri worker got 5 weeks because they 'lost out' on the hols. When friend got job, the other job sharer left and friend went on to do 3 days but on Mon-Wed so has gained the better terms of the 3 day worker, forgetting about the BH.0
