Re-mortgage spouse is discharged Bankrupt ??

Hiya,

Really hope someone can help as we are at a loss as to what is best to do !

I was discharged from bankruptcy 18 months ago and have been very lucky to be supported financially for the past few years by my other half (whos credit is fine) Thing is....he has bought a house 6 months ago (our first home) which is great as we are now all living together with out little boy a family... but

At the moment obviously everthing is in his name and only he is on the electoral register (I am still registered at a previous family address) but I need to register at our new home as we have children and there are various things tax credits ect...so I need to register her.... but

We need to change lenders in 18 months time as the rate jumps up after the first 2 years but we are very concerned that if I (discharged bankrupt) am on the electoral roll here we wont be able to get a mortgage/good rate...

If anyone can advise ... then that would be great as we are stuck !!

Hope Ive made sense here

Thanks !

No need to worry as long as he keeps his credit clean. You are just a named occupant as far as lender is concerned

We were told by a mortgage broker that me being there would be a major problem...but we didnt have much faith that he knew what he was talking about !

    Thank you

In18 mths time you will ebdischarged 3 yrs so it might even be feasable for you to be put on the mortgage though I wouldnt bother if it wasnt needed. Your other half should have no trouble on his own. If you were worried about your share of the house you could get a solicitor to set up a deed of trust.
