Ideas to entertain nieces from New Zealand

Got my sister and her two daughters aged 10 and 8 coming over on 15th Dec to stay. Looking for ideas for things to do with them. They are both very sporty. Up for anything.
I am looking after them for the day on 21st December but looking for something interesting to do for the duration of their stay.
We live in Airdrie so pretty central.
The victims we know so well
They shine in your eyes
When they kiss and tell
Strange places we never see
But you're always there
Like a ghost in my dream

They would probably enjoy a trip to Xscape at Braehead.

Should be less than a half hour's drive for you.

Xscape would be great - might have to book?

    Also..

    Time Capsule
Ice rink in George Square Glasgow
Ceilidh (the Piping Centre has family ones around Christmas)

    not sporty but interesting..

    Summerlee
    Calderglen park in EK
    Science Centre
    Dynamic Earth
Christmas market in Princes St Gardens

Don't think you have to book for Xscape.
